Crown of Midnight (Throne of Glass #2)

Goodreads Summary
An assassin’s loyalties are always in doubt.
But her heart never wavers.

After a year of hard labor in the Salt Mines of Endovier, eighteen-year-old assassin Celaena Sardothien has won the king's contest to become the new royal assassin. Yet Celaena is far from loyal to the crown – a secret she hides from even her most intimate confidantes.

Keeping up the deadly charade—while pretending to do the king's bidding—will test her in frightening new ways, especially when she's given a task that could jeopardize everything she's come to care for. And there are far more dangerous forces gathering on the horizon -- forces that threaten to destroy her entire world, and will surely force Celaena to make a choice.

Where do the assassin’s loyalties lie, and who is she most willing to fight for?

My Thoughts
This series is so good! I won't say too much about this book because you really should pick up a copy and read it yourself. I will say though that I do not understand why this is called Crown of Midnight. If you know fill me in.

This book picks up where Throne of Glass left off. Celaena has a new journey to overcome and she has every intention of doing it her own way. You will love her for her bravery, but also her trepidation. She one of the strongest female characters I have read about, but she has her doubts about herself too. It's a beautiful contradiction.

This book has everything in it. Fight scenes, loss, rage, hate, love, truths, and Chaol. I'm sorry...ok not sorry, but I love Chaol. There were times when I wanted to kiss him, shake him, and slap him, but I still adore him.

Go get your hands on a copy of Throne of Glass and then pick up Crown of Midnight.
